Only 13-14 days left for Ramadan!! Those who still don't know what to recite (say) during Prayer, please you read this !!! [LIKE+SHARE+COMMENT]

1 ➲ Recite the opening supplication after the first takbeer (Takbeer Al-Ihram: Allahu Akbar, i.e. Allah is The Greatest)

"سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ".

(Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabaarakasmuka, wa ta'aalaa jadduka, wa laa 'ilaaha ghayruka)

Glory is to You O Allah, and praise. Blessed is Your Name and Exalted is Your Majesty. There is none worthy of worship but You.

[Aboo Daawood, The Book Of Prayer, Hadeeth 776; At-Tirmidhee, The Book of Opening Supplication, Hadith 898; Ibn Majah, The Book of Establishing The Prayer and Its Sunan, Hadith 804]

Alternatively you may say:

(Allaahumma baa'id baynee wa bayna khataayaaya kamaa baa'adta baynal-mashriqi walmaghribi, Allaahumma naqqinee min khataayaaya kamaa yunaqqath-thawbul-'abyadhu minad-danasi, Allaahum-maghsilnee min khataayaaya, bith-thalji walmaa'i walbarad)

O Allah, distance me from my sins, just as You have distanced the east from the west. O Allah, purify me from my sins, just as a white dress is purified from filth. O Allah, wash me from my sins with ice, water and hail.

[Al-Bukharee, The Book of Al-Adhaan, Hadith 744; Muslim, The Book of Al Masaajid and Places for Prayer, Hadith 598]

One should choose one of the supplications that were narrated as an Opening Du’aa and say it.

2 ➲ Seek refuge in Allaah before reciting from the Quran.

"أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ: مِنْ نَفْخِهِ، وَنَفْثِهِ، وَهَمْزِهِ" ('A 'oothu billaahi minash-Shaytaan: min nafkhihi, wa nafthihi, wa hamzihi)

I seek refuge in Allah from Satan. From his breath and from his voice and from his whisper. [Aboo Daawood, The Book Of Prayer, Hadeeth 770]

3 ➲ Recite Al-Basmala

(Bismillaahirrahmaanirrahiim)

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful

[Muslim, The Book of Opening, Hadith 399; An-Nasaaee’, The Book of The Opening, Hadith 906]

4 ➲ Say Ameen, after reciting Al-Faatihah. [Al-Bukhaaree, The Book of Al-Adhaan, Hadith 782; Muslim, The Book of Prayer, Hadith 410]

5 ➲ Reciting a Surah (A chapter of Qur’an) after Al-Faatihah

The person praying alone should recite a surah, or part of one, after reciting Al-Faatihah in the first two raka’ah of all prayers.

For the one who is praying behind Imaam in congregation, he should recite a surah after Al-Faatihah in the first two raka’ah of the silent prayers.

As for the two raka’ah of the loud prayers, he does not read but instead listens to the Imaam’s recitation.

[Al-Bukhaaree, The Book of Al-Adhaan, Hadith 756; Muslim, The Book of Prayer, Hadith 394]

6 ➲ Supplicate upon rising from Rukoo’ (kneeling):

"سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ" (Sami'allaahu liman hamidah - Allah hears whoever praises Him)

[Al-Bukhari, cf. Al-Asqalani, Fathul-Bari 2/282]

"رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ (Rabbanaa wa lakal-hamd - Our Lord, to You be all praise)

[Muslim, The Book of Prayer, Hadith 392]

Mil'as-samaawaati wa mU'al-'ardhi wa maa baynahumaa, wa mil'a maa shi'ta min shay 'in ba'd. 'Ahlath-thanaa'i walmajdi, 'ahaqqu maa qaalal-'abdu, wa kullunaa laka 'abdun. Allaahumma laa maani'a limaa 'a'tayta, wa laa mu'tiya limaa mana'ta, wa laa yanfa'uthal-jaddi minkal-jadd.

(A praise that) fills the heavens and the earth and what lies between them, and whatever else You please . (You Allah) are most worthy of praise and majesty , and what the slave has said - we are all Your slaves . O Allah , there is none who can withhold what You give, and none may give what You have withheld . And the might of the mighty person cannot benefit him against You.

[Muslim, The Book of Prayer, Hadith 477]

7 ➲ Repeat the Tasbeeh more than once [Aboo Daawood, The Book Of Prayer, Hadeeth 881]

The Tasbeeh while rukoo’ (bowing/kneeling):

"سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ" (Subhaana Rabbiyal-'Adheem - Far removed is my Lord from any imperfections, the Supreme (three times in Arabic))

The Tasbeeh while sujood (prostrating):

"سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الأَعْلَى" (Subhaana Rabbiyal-A 'laa - Far removed is my Lord from any imperfections, the most High (three times in Arabic))

8 ➲ Repeat the Supplication more than once while sitting between the two prostrations

"رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي" (Rabbighfir lee, Rabbighfir lee - My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me.)

[Ibn Majah, The Book of Establishing The Prayer and Its Sunan, Hadith 897]

9 ➲ Supplication for at tashshahud

Attahiyyaatu lillaahi wassalawaatu , wattayyibaatu , assalaamu 'alayka 'ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu, assalaamu 'alaynaa wa 'alaa 'ibaadillaahis-saaliheen. 'Ash-hadu 'an laa 'ilaaha 'illallaahu wa 'ash-hadu 'anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa Rasooluhu.

All greetings of humility are for Allah , and all prayers and goodness . Peace be upon you , O Prophet , and the mercy of Allah and His blessings . Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah . I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah , and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.

[Al-Bukhari, Muslim 1/301. See also Al-Asqalani, Fathul-Bal 1/13]

10 ➲ Sending blessing to the Prophet salallaahu alayhi wa salam after tashshahud

Allaahumma salli 'alaa Muhammadin wa 'alaa 'aali Muhammadin, kamaa sallayta 'alaa 'Ibraaheema wa 'alaa 'aali 'Ibraaheema, 'innaka Hameedun Majeed. Allaahumma baarik 'alaa Muhammadin wa 'alaa 'aali Muhammadin, kamaa baarakta 'alaa 'Ibraaheema wa 'alaa 'aali 'Ibraaheema, 'innaka Hameedun Majeed.

O Allah, bestow Your favor on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad as You have bestowed Your favor on Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.

[ Al-Bukhari, cf. Al-Asqalani, Fathul-Bari 6/408]

11 ➲ Supplication after the final tashshahud

Allaahumma 'innee 'a'oothu bika min l'athaabil-qabri, wa min 'athaabi jahannama, wa min fitnatil-mahyaa walmamaati, wa min sharri fitnatil-maseehid-dajjaal.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of Hell-fire, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the False Messiah.

[Al-Bukharee, The Book of Funerals, Hadith 1377; Muslim, The Book of Al Masaajid and Places for Prayer, Hadith 588]

12 ➲ Lengthen the supplication when prostrating

It is desirable that the worshipper does not limit himself to glorification in sujoud, rather, he should add to it the supplication he wishes, for this hadith: (when a bondman prostrates, he is in the nearest point to his Lord, thus, increase your supplication). [Muslim, The Book of Prayer, Hadith 482]

Point to notes:
• There are other supplications, if anyone wants them, he may refer to {Hissn Al-Muslim (the Muslim’s fort)} Al-Qahtani’s book.
• All verbal Sunnahs are repeated in every rak’a, except the Opening Du’aa and the supplication after tashahud.
• Thus, the total applied verbal Sunnahs in the obligatory prayer, which consist of 17 rak’as, reaches 136 sunnah, if we say that there are eight repeated Sunnahs in every rak’a.
• And its total in supererogatory prayer, which is 25 rak’as according to what we have shown about the supererogatory prayers performed per day and night, reaches 175 applied Sunnahs in the supererogatory rak’as. These may increase through Qiyam (night prayers) and Ad-dhuha (noon prayer), and thus, you apply these Sunnahs more and more.
• As for the verbal Sunnahs, which do not repeat in prayer except once, these are:
1- Opening Du’aa.
2- Supplication after the last tashahud.
Their total in obligatory prayers is 10 Sunnahs.

* As for their total in supererogatory prayers performed per day and night and in which these two Sunnahs repeat, it reaches 24 Sunnahs and may increase through Qiyam (night prayers), Ad-dhuha (noon prayer) or Tahhiyat Al-Masjed (mosque salutation), thus, one applies these Sunnahs more and more, though they do not repeat in a prayer except once, he acquires more reward and becomes more adherent to the Sunnah.
