Trofi F1 Malaysia GP 2001-2014

Sleek and modern, the shape of the trophy is inspired by the streamlined body of F1 cars. The handles of the trophy are an abstract shape derived from the top section of a racing car.

Traditional Malay wood carving motif decorates the handles of the trophy. The unique shape of the handles is derived from the bangau, the decorative sails and spars of Malay fishing boats.

The iconic Hibiscus tower greets every visitor to the Sepang International Circuit. This unique architectural feature is highlighted in the feature of the trophy design.

Derived from the star on the national flag, 14 spokes, representing each state in the Federation of Malaysia, spiral gracefully upwards. Bold and streamlined, the trophy's complex lines and curves suggest the idea of power, speed and excitement.

The design expresses the excitement of the Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix. Its unique shape conveys an explosion of vibrant energy while the faceted surface catches light to convey the thrill of high speed.

The trophy comprises 8 faceted pillars that form a circle on a timber base. Symbolising the essence of F1, the twisted pillars reflect movement and capture the exhilaration and unifying spirit of the sporting event.
